Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke today joined other worshipers at Osogbo Central Mosque to the admiration of all and sundry to perform the Jumat Prayer for the first time as Executive Governor of the state.

 Addressing the congregation, Governor Adeleke said this was to fulfil his pledge that if he emerged victorious in the poll and was sworn in, he would observe the first Jumat Prayer in the mosque in appreciation of the spiritual and political support.

He assured the congregants that he remained resolute in fulfilling all his electioneering promises, calling for more support to enable him to succeed in making life better for the citizenry.

Governor Adeleke commended the Ataoja of Osogboland, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, who was also at the service for his unflinching support which nearly pitched him against the past government.

In response, the Ataoja of Osogboland, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun appreciated the Governor for his love for Osogbo, assuring the governor of total support of all Osogbo Indigenes at home and Diaspora in the bid to transform Osogbo and Osun State in general.

Earlier in his sermon drawn from Quran chapter 42 verse 43, the Chief Imam of Osogboland, Sheikh Musa Animasahun called on the governor to forgive whoever offended him, having been patient during the days of struggles as a gubernatorial aspirant.

The Chief Imam who lauded the governor and charged him to hold firmly to the tenets of Islam said he would be among creatures that would be blessed by Allah.

The Governor, who paid an unscheduled homage to the Ataoja, was accompanied by a cheering crowd from the mosque to the palace, where the Ataoja ìn council welcomed the Governor.

Governor of Osun State, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, has described the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun as a pillar of support of his administration.

Mr Oyetola stated this at the 10th Coronation anniversary of the Ataoja of Osogbo and formal launch of Ataoja palace project in Osogbo.

Governor Oyetola, who was represented by his deputy, Mr Benedict Alabi noted that the monarch and his subjects had been very supportive in making government’s efforts to transform the state.

The governor described the tenure of the traditional ruler as being peaceful, which, according to him had brought about social stability,

good road network, and other infrastructure in the state capital.

Governor Oyetola noted that royalty was vital to life and culture and development of the people, commending Oba Olanipekun for distinguishing himself as a worthy royal father and leader of men since ascending the throne in the last decade. 

In a remark, the Atoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun thanked God for giving him the opportunity to serve the community and the state for a decade.

Oba olanipekun assured the people of Osogbo that he would continue to promote culture and traditions of the ancient community.
