One person has been presumed dead, while seven others sustained varying degrees of injuries in a lone accident at the Fidiwo axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Ogun Sector Command, Mrs Florence Okpe who made known in Abeokuta, said the lone accident involved a Daf truck conveying both passengers and animals.

Mrs Okpe who attributed the cause of the crash to a burst tyre while the driver was on top speed, said the injured victims had been taken to a nearby hospital at Ogere for medical attention.

She also pointed out that a second accident occurred at the long bridge section of the expressway involving a fallen kerosene tanker that spilt its contents on the road, adding that the situation had been managed by FRSC operatives and other stakeholders and no death was recorded at the scene of the accident.

Seven people have been presumed dead while three other persons sustained varying degrees of injuries in a fatal crash that occurred at Sandcrete Ogunmakin Area on Lagos/Ibadan expressway.

The accident which occurred around ten minutes to eleven in the evening involved a bus and a truck with an unidentified registration number due to the nature of the crash.

The Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Ogun Sector Command, Mrs. Florence Okpe said the two vehicles had a head-on collision due to one of them driving against traffic which resulted in a fire outbreak.

Mrs. Okpe explained that the seven people were burnt beyond recognition while three other persons sustained injuries during the crash.

She said the injured victims had been taken to a private hospital in Ogere for medical attention.

Mrs. Okpe emphasized the need for motorists to desist from driving against traffic considering the dangers attached to route violation.
