Aare Musulumi Pays Homage to Olubadan Designate

The Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Alhaji Daud Akinola has paid  homage to the Olubadan Designate, High Chief Lekan  Balogun at his Alarere residence in Ibadan. 

Alhaji Akinola who lauded the good character of the Olubadan- in -waiting was optimistic that with his wealth of experience, Ibadan would witness progressive development during his period.


The Aare Musulumi thanked God for bringing to pass the agelong desire of Ali Iwo family to the throne of Olubadan of Ibadanland again. 
He prayed to God  for wisdom, strength and long life for the Olubadan designate. 

The Chief Imam, Oluyole Extension Estate Mosque,  Alhaji Mudathir Bada who was part of the entourage of the Aare Musulumi led the people in prayers for the Olubadan.

Responding on behalf of Olubadan designate, High Chief Hamidu Ajibade thanked Aare Musulumi and his entourage for the visit.

He also urged the religious leader to pay  attention to the palace of the Olubadan Designate, considering the religious background of High Chief Balogun as a devout Muslim, pointing at the mosque situated within the compound as a fact  to justify his claim.

Oluwo Visits Olubadan Designate, Lekan Balogun

Oluwo of Iwo,  Oba AbdRasheed Akanbi has joined scores of dignitaries paying homage to the Olubadan Designate,  High Chief Lekan Balogun.

Oba Akanbi who led other chiefs to the residence of High Chief Balogun at Alarere in Ibadan was given a royal welcome by Olubadan traditional drummers.

Oba Akanbi who described High Chief Lekan Balogun as an epitome of humility emphasized that with his wealth of experience,  Ibadanland would witness tremendous development during his reign as Olubadan of Ibadanland.

He prayed for good health and long life for the Olubadan-in-waiting and later had a private discussion with him and his wife which he described as a son to father’s talk.

Oba Akanbi noted that his history could not be completed without Aliiwo, the home of his maternal family  as he lived at the compound for years and could not forget the hospitality of the people which had a great impact in his upbringing.

Responding, the Olubadan Designate, High Chief
Lekan Balogun appreciated the visit and promised that the mutual relationship that had existed from the days of the founding father of Aliiwo would be sustained during his reign.
