Former governor of Oyo State, Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, has died few days to his 90th birthday.
He was born on 14th April , 1935.
A statement signed by Oladapo Ogunwusi, Esq., on behalf of the family, and posted on his facebook page, confirmed the death of the elder statesman.
The statement describes the death as a painful loss but one met with gratitude to the Almighty for a life well spent.
Dr. Olunloyo, a renowned mathematician, engineer, and technocrat, was also the Balogun of Oyo and the Otun Bobasewa of Ife.
He held numerous positions in his lifetime, including being the pioneer Rector of both The Polytechnic, Ibadan, and Kwara State Polytechnic.
The statement further said that his long-standing record of service to the nation and humanity, remains a legacy of pride to his loved ones and associates.
The family, therefore, appealed for the understanding and privacy of the public and the media as arrangements begin for a befitting burial.
Dr. Victor Omololu Sowemimo Olunloyo was governor of Oyo State between 1st October to 31st December, 1983.
