Osun state Governor, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola has appointed 10 board chairmen and their board members under some state Ministries, agencies and parastatals.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Ismail Omipidan.

Among those who made the list are: Former Health minister, Issac Adewole Uniosun Teaching Hospital Board, Elder Kunle Odeyemi, APC leader in Ijesa zone Osun COE, Ilesa, former Osun Deputy Speaker, Akintunde Adegboye College of Technology, Esa Oke, foremost lawyer and former Governorship aspirant in the State, Saka Layonu, SAN Osun Polytechnic, Iree and another former Deputy Speaker, Taiwo Sunmonu Teaching Service Board.

Other appointees are: former state lawmaker, Hon. Abiodun Awolola House of Assembly Service Commission, Mr. George Adedeji Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Femi Osunro Civil Service Commission, George Olayinka Owolabi COE, Ila and Bisi Odewumi School of Health Technology, Ilesa.

The statement indicates that the appointments, which take immediate effect, are informed by the strong need to provide the necessary Governance and oversight structure for Government Agencies and Parastatals.

It adds that the remaining boards appointments will be made soon.

Mrs Omolola Alamu of Federal Radio Corporation Of Nigeria, Ibadan Station has emerged as the New  Chairperson, Nigerian Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ.


Mrs Alamu was elected alongside other executive members by registered NAWOJ  members at an election held at the NUJ press Centre in Ibadan. While the election was going on at the Press centre as directed by NAWOJ secretariat, another faction led by Mrs Jadesola Ajibola was also conducting another election at a location in Ibadan.


In her acceptance speech, Mrs Alamu promised to reposition the Association and urged members to be up and doing to lift the association to an enviable heights.
She stressed that the welfare of members would be given utmost priority, saying it was one of the major plans of her team.


Alamu implored Nawojians in the state to give maximum support to her team so as to achieve remarkable success. 


The new chairperson emphasised that with the new team, every member would be involved.
Other newly elected officers are, Shade Oduola-Vice chairperson, Ramat Alade- Secretary, Temilola Akarah- Treasurer, Kehinde Igbari- Asst Secretary, and Temilola Oyewole- Financial Secretary.

The election was held under a conducive environment.
