Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA), has unveiled a new road map for advertisement in the state to boost revenue generation and curb leakages.

The new road map mandates advertising Practitioners to do fresh registration, revalidation, submission of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), payment of presumptive tax of N3,000, and annual renewal of permit which shall be valid for 10 years.

Director General, OYSAA, Temilola Adibi while unveiling the new road map for advertisement at the 2022 stakeholders forum of third party practitioners in Oyo State held at the House of Chiefs, State Secretariat, Ibadan said the new idea would be supported by Geographic Information System (GIS).

The DG OYSAA Mr Adibi who was represented by Director, Admin and Supplies in the agency, Mr Tunji Okanlawon said the state adopted the new road map in recognition of the need to overhaul advertising practice thereby improving the advertisement landscape.

He charged the business community and other stakeholders to key into the new road map by ensuring regular and prompt payment of dues as well as abiding by the codified rules and regulations of OYSAA.

Speaking at the event, Lead Consultant in the informal sector in Oyo State and Chief Executive Officer, ITC Advisory Services, Mr Tunde Adaramaja said the consultants are going all out to sanitise the advertising space of Oyo State with
enforcement of rules and regulation of OYSAA while not hesitating to blacklist illegal operators .

Also speaking, Consultant to OYSAA, third party and Lead partner, BPLAN Advisory Services, Yomi Owojori said the state government had given them a mandate to stamp out indiscriminate structures, illegal practitioners, illegal bill boards.

He added that it had a mandate to block all leakages, ensure every statutory advertising revenue is in the coffers of the state government and capture certified practitioners into its database using Geographic Information System (GIS).

Commenting on the new roadmap, Director, Operations, OYSAA, Mr Lateef Adesina said upon fresh registration of practitioners, a newly designed registration code is to be issued aside from identification tag and electronic tagging put at N5,000 per tag.

Mr Adesina noted that practitioners would not only submit EIA but also structural designs and insurance policy of their structures, adding that the prescribed permit shall only be renewed if the agency is satisfied with performance of the advertising operator.

Oyo State Government has cautioned vehicle, tricycle and motorbike operators and other corporate bodies operating a fleet of vehicles in the state against using mobile advert stickers different from the ones produced by the Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA).

The Director-General of the Agency, Temilola Adibi gave the warning during the launching of 2022 OYSAA Mobile Advert Stickers at the state secretariat, Ibadan

Mr Adibi insisted that anyone or corporate body caught flouting the directive would be duly prosecuted calling for sustainable synergy between mobile sticker consultants and interested parties based on trust in the interest of all.

The DG OYSAA noted that revenue sub-consultants, as well as vendors, should represent the state well in the discharge of their assignment on the field in line with the provided extant laws.

Mr Adibi also explained that the 2022 mobile advert stickers as unveiled was meant to be administered on branded vehicles belonging to individuals and corporate enterprises.

In a remark, the chairman of Oyo State Internal Revenue services, Femi Awakan, said the state government remained committed to boosting the state revenue to facilitate socio-economic development and urged stakeholders to cooperate with the state government.
