As part of activities to commemorate this year’s Children’s Day, Radio Nigeria Premier FM Ibadan is organizing a 5 kilometers marathon on Saturday.

According to a statement by the General Manager, Premier FM Ibadan, Mr Adedamola Tinubu, the marathon tagged “kiddies marathon 2023”, will be the first of its kind.

The statement notes that participants have been drawn from selected schools in Ibadan, adding that the exercise will commence at seven o’clock in the morning.

The statement further indicates that the race will commence at Akinyemi roundabout, Ring Road and terminate at Premier FM Ibadan office, Iyaganku Ibadan.

It adds that security and medical personnel will be on the ground to ensure safety throughout the exercise.

Songs of praise and gratitude filled the atmosphere during the Thanksgiving service to wrap up the 20th Anniversary of Premier fm Ibadan held at New Covenant Church, Oke-Bola Centre, Ibadan.

Members of staff of the station clad in beautiful attire and led by the General Manager, Alhaji Bashir Omotoso danced joyfully to thank God for two decades of professional and impactful broadcasting.

In his message titled Gratitude taken from Luke Chapter 17,verses 11 to 19, the Pastor of New Covenant Church,Oke-Bola Centre emphasised the need to thank God at all times regardless of present challenges.

Pastor Sunday Ogunniyi described Premier fm as a station that had contributed in no small measure to uplifting and uniting the Nigerian nation and her people.

Pasto Ogunniyi prayed that the station would continue to occupy her front line role in the broadcast industry.

The General Manager of the station,Alhaji Bashir Omotoso in his remarks admonished Ministers of God to always speak the truth,stressing that the influence they had should be used to impact lives and the nation positively.

Special prayers were said for the station and her staff.

The anniversary had also featured free medical check up, novelty match, Jumat service, road walk, lecturer and award presentation.

The founder of Ewa Islam Islamic foundation and Chief Imam Labaika central mosque, Dalute Transformer, Ibadan, Alhaji Ismail Oluwakemi-Akeukewe gave the advice during a special Jumat service as part of activities marking 20th anniversary of Premier FM, 93.5.

Alhaji Oluwakemi-Akeukewe maintained that investigative journalism was essential to avoid circulating fake news.

The cleric stressed that balanced and objective news items would unite Nigerians and avoid chaos in the society.

Alhaji Oluwakemi-Akeukewe prayed for protection and constant promotion of management and members of staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Ibadan National Station and celebration of impactful years as flagship in broadcasting.

In a remark, the General Manager, Premier FM, 93.5, Ibadan, Alhaji Bashir Omotoso expressed appreciation to Ewa Islam foundation and prayed for sustained partnership with the Islamic organization.

Members of FRCN staff at the Jumat service included the chairman, Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria, MMPN, Oyo State, Alhaji Ridwan Fasasi, the chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalist, FRCN, Ibadan, Alhaji Nafiu Busari, the chairman, Premier FM 20th anniversary planning committee, Mrs Doris Adeniyi.
