The Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Prince Adewale Egbedun has described the attack on Governor Ademola Adeleke by some alleged political thugs at the Osogbo Eid praying ground, as barbaric.

The Speaker stated this in a Statement made to newsmen by his Press Secretary, Mr. Olamide Tiamiyu in Osogbo.

The Speaker who was on the entourage of the Governor when the attack occurred, said Governor Adeleke and his team escaped the evil plan of the miscreants with the prompt intervention of the governor’s security details and the grace of God.

Prince Egbedun called on Security Operatives to ensure proper investigation of the incident and ensure that those involved were made to face the wrath of the Law.

It would be recalled that Senator Ademola Adeleke could not observe the rakat prayers for the Eid-El-Kabir celebration following a misunderstanding over the sitting arrangement at the eid prayer ground in Osogbo.

The Governor left after the arranged space for him was occupied by the Former Senate Spokesperson, Senator Ajibola Bashir who had earlier arrived the venue.

According to report, Muslim leaders made attempts to wade in by arranging another space for Senator Bashir, who insisted on not leaving his seat.

A minor misunderstanding however broke out between the PDP and APC loyalists after the departure of the governor’ but was quickly resolved by security operatives on ground.
