Pensioners in Osun State have renewed appeal to Governor Gboyega Oyetola to offset their outstanding entitlements without further delay.

The state coordinator of the former civil servants, Comrade Isaac Oluwafemi made the appeal in Ilesa when he led other members to Radio Nigeria Gold FM.

The coordinator explained that efforts to make the present administration clear the twenty-nine months arrears and facilitate the insurance of bond certificate for the payment of contributory pension fund had proved abortive.

Comrade Oluwafemi claimed that more than three hundred beneficiaries were dead, while about ten thousand other pensioners were in object poverty.

In a remark, the state vice chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC , Comrade Gambi Yusuf, who described Governor Oyetola’s administration as workers-friendly, pleaded with the pensioners to exercise more patience as the efforts were being intensified for the payment of their entitlements.

Comrade Yusuf gave the assurance that the current economy crises and insecurity which brought hardship and poverty to the county would soon be over.

Wasiu Ajadosu of Radio Nigeria Gold FM has emerged the Chairman of Osun State Council of the Nigerian Union Of Journalists.

 Wasiu Ajadosu polled 136 votes of the total votes cast to defeat his opponent, Dele Ajayi of the Unique FM, Ilesa who polled 59.

Ajadosu was the Vice Chairman of the council during the tenure of the immediate past Chairman Mr Kehinde Ayatunji.

The seat became vacant after the resignation Mr Kehinde Ayantunji who was appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Students’ Affairs and Social Mobilisation.

Meanwhile, chairman NUJ, FRCN Ibadan chapel, Alhaji Nafiu Busari has congratulated Ajadosu for the feat achieved.

He prayed for him to have a successful tenure and urged him to uphold the standard of FRCN .

In the same vein, Oyo State Chairman, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Mr Olaolu Fawole urged the Osun new NUJ chairman to use his office to fight the course of the pen profession.

Also reacting, Vice President, Zone B, National Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Mrs Morenike Esan congratulated the FRCN family for gaining more grounds in NUJ politics and urged the new chairman to brace up for the task ahead of him.

Osun State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Ebenezer Asaniyan says the command will sustain its enlightenment campaign to reduce carnage on the highways.

Mr Asaniyan stated this in Osogbo while playing host to the management of Gold FM in his office.

The sector commander, who decried the attitude of some motorists on the highways, emphasized the need for road users to always abide by traffic regulations.

He lauded Radio Nigeria Gold FM for its ingenuity in designing programmes assisting the command in educating motorists on traffic laws and regulations.

On his part, the General Manager, Gold FM, Ilesa, Mr Damola Tinubu promised that the media organization would continue to sustain its age long relationship with FRSC.

Mr Tinubu urged the corps to use the station’s platform to propagate its campaign and enlightenment on safety on highways.

He promised that Radio Nigeria would continue to maintain its leading role through promotion of professionalism.
