Rest is good after labour.

It was in recognition of this that the Department of News and Current Affairs, FRCN Ibadan organised a befitting send-off for the immediate past Deputy Director, Reverend Segun Ayankoso.

The event was held at Studio One, Broadcasting House, Oba Adebimpe Road, Dugbe, Ibadan.

In an address of welcome, Deputy Director News and Current Affairs, Elder Aderenle Ajisefini, described the gathering as significant as the occasion in the month of January coincided with the birthday of the celebrant.

Elder Ajisefini lauded members of the News Department across the Southwest for their cooperation in ensuring the success of the ceremony.

In a remark, Acting Zonal Director, Radio Nigeria Ibadan, Pastor Mrs Bolanle Owoyemi, expressed delight to be part of the occasion, describing Reverend Ayankoso as being hardworking and dedicated.

Going down memory lane, the Acting Zonal Director recollected how the celebrant successful hosted the FRCN National Planning Conference while he was General Manager, Positive FM, Akure.

Other speakers at the programme poured encomium on Reverend Ayankoso, noting that he possessed endearing qualities which included blunt, peace loving, mediation and goal oriented.

 Also, the Pastor, Baptist Church, Iwo Road, Adeoba Kolawole, while delivering a sermon, said Reverend Ayankoso was a humble man, who had lived to fulfill God’s purpose in Radio Nigeria.

Pastor Adeoba urged staff of the News Department to make it a goal to live a purpose life, as it is a life characterized by service to God.

In a speech, Reverend Ayankoso, in company of his wife, thanked News Department for the honour, expressing gratitude to God for the opportunity to work in Radio Nigeria, and also lauded Elder Ajisefini, whom he described as a very close friend, for his supportive role.

Highlights of the occasion were rendition of songs in honour of the celebrant and the presentation of gifts.

In attendance were Deputy Director Programmes, Mrs Bolatito Joseph, Deputy Director Engineering, Engineer Gabriel Ajayi, General Manager Positive FM Akure, Mr Samson Abiodun, General Manager Premier FM, Alhaji Bashiru Omotosho, Assistant Director, Procurement, Mr Ade Akanmu.

It was a joyous moment as Members of Staff of Programmes Department, FRCN, across southwest gathered at the Ibadan Zonal Headquarters, Dugbe to celebrate their end of year party.

Our correspondent reports that the event was also attended by Committee of Management.

In a remark, Zonal Director, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, Alhaji Mohammed Bello urged members of staff to be diligent in all they do as there was always reward for good works.

Deputy Director, Programmes, FRCN, Ibadan, Mrs. Bolatito Joseph said the event was organised as a way of making the staffs unwind after a long period of work.

Highlight of the programme was presentation of awards to outstanding members of staff across the FM stations in the Sout West as well as selected members in the society and the Zonal Director FRCN, Ibadan.

There is need for civil servants to work ascidously to attain greater height.
General Manager, Amuludun FM, Moniya Ibadan, Rev.Niyi Dahunsi stated this at the send off ceremony in honor former General Manager, Amuludun FM, Chief Olusola Adewale.
Rev. Dahunsi who described the former General Manager as an exemplary leader charged members of staff to build on the legacies he left behind.

In a separate remark, some of the staff and well wishers eulogised the outgoing General Manager, saying he would be greatly missed for his fatherly roles.

Reacting, Chief Olusola Adewale who was full of joy appreciated members of staff of Amuludun for the honor bestowed on him, and advised them to be diligent and committed in discharging their duties.

Highlights of the event include ewi rendition, and presentation of gifts to the former General Manager.

As parts of its effort to fulfill its corporate social responsibilities, CSR, Radio Nigeria Ibadan Zonal Station has rewarded one of its ardent listener, 18 year old, Arani Yahya from Isalu Iseyin, Local Government in Oyo state.

Presenting the gifts, the Zonal Director, Alhaji Mohammed Bello said the gesture was done to encourage Arani Yahyah who travelled all the way from Iseyin to Ibadan.

Responding, Yahya who is a student of Hawaru Islam High School 2, Isalu Iseyin, explained that he enjoyed listening to sports and yoruba programs on Amuludun 99.1, Fm, Moniya Ibadan.

Yahya advocated for more yoruba programs on Radio Nigeria Ibadan airwaves.

Items presented to him included nose mask, alcohol based hand sanitizers, books and Ankara fabrics.
