Providing basic social amenities in local communities will significantly improve the standard of living of rural dwellers.

The Asotun of Isotun-Ijesa, Oba Adebiyi Owosekun made the call in Ilesa in an interview with Radio Nigeria.

Oba Owosekun noted that lack of basic social amenities in the villages had led to rural-urban migration, resulting in neglect of Agriculture.

The monarch, who is a professor of Economics, said the provision of good roads, health facilities, electricity as well as security would make life comfortable for rural dwellers.

Oba Owosekun, who observed that his community through communal efforts had built a health centre appealed to the government to deploy medical personnel to the health centre to serve other eleven neighbouring villages surrounding the village.
