Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has urged secessionists to abandon their agitation and instead contribute to efforts at nation-building.

The Governor gave the advice in Abuja, while speaking with journalists on the relative return of peace in his state,.

The Governor, who had a closed-door meeting with President Buhari at the State House, said the strength of Nigeria is in her diversity.

He said the support given by the Federal Government to stem insecurity in his state had paid off, leading to the arrest of 40 suspects, among whom were security personnel from Imo and other southeastern states.

Governor Uzodinma alleged that banditry and other criminal activities were being sponsored by some politicians to divert the government’s focus on making life better for Nigerians.

He challenged security agencies to publish names of such Nigerians and urged Nigerians to join the fight against crime by providing credible intelligence to relevant authorities.
