Three additional Commissioner nominees screened by the Ogun State House of Assembly have been tasked with quality service delivery and creative ways to improve the State’s Internally Generated Revenue without putting unnecessary financial burden on the people. 

The Speaker of the House, Mr Olakunle Oluomo gave the charge at the end of the screening exercise for the prospective Commissioners, emphasizing that the best would be expected of them, if confirmed by the Assembly and appointed by the State Governor.

Those screened by the lawmakers were Mrs Oluwafunmilayo Efuwape, Mr Olatunji Odunlami and Mr Wasiu Isiaka. 

The Speaker enjoined them to avoid any form of influence that could hinder the progress and development of the State. 

Responding, the Commissioner nominees promised to consolidate on their achievements during the first term, while assuring that they would continue to synergize with the State legislature and other relevant stakeholders to render development-driven policies and programmes for the benefit of the State.

The 13th Vice Chancellor of the University of  Ibadan, Professor Kayode Adebowale have been told live up to the expectations of the people as he steers the affairs of the institution for the next five years.

The Pastor In Charge of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Oyo Province 2, Pastor Ayodeji Arije gave the admonition during the thanksgiving service of the new Vice Chancellor.

Pastor Arije who said Professor Adebowale is a pastor in the church explained that the expectations of people are higher when a pastor is made to assume the position of authority, 

The cleric stressed the need for Professor Adebowale to start small and progress in his achivement.

In his testimony, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kayode Adebowale said the pressures of uncertainties almost influenced his withdrawal but for God’s sustaining power.

The Vice Chancellor who said he would not have emerged  as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan if linkage with high profile Nigerians and appointment strategies were considered as appointment parametres said God had been instrumental to his new position.

Aside top ministers of Oyo province in the Redeemed Christian Church of God and management of the University of Ibadan that graced the event, the thanksgiving service also featured special prayers for the institution and the new Vice Chancellor.

The thanksgiving service climaxed at the Trenchard hall of the institution with the entertainment of dignitaries and members of staff.
