Ogun state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has won the 2023 Silverbird Man of the Year award in recognition of his commitment and dedication to the socio-economic development of the gateway state.
Presenting the award to the Governor at the 19th edition of the Man of the Year award organized by Silverbird Organization in Lagos, the chief executive officer of a private airline in Nigeria, Chief Allen Onyema commended him for the accelerated development recorded in the state since his assumption of office
Congratulating the Governor, Chief Onyema noted that the award was a reflection of Governor Abiodun’s commitment to the development and fundamental changes in the affairs of the state through his administration’s “building our future together agenda”.
Speaking after receiving the award, Governor Abiodun who thanked the management of the Silverbird Organisation for the recognition, said the honour was a call to greater service to the people of the state and the nation at large
Promising that his administration would build on the successes recorded during his first term in office, the Governor noted that the current administration has constructed over five hundred kilometres of road in all the three senatorial districts, built three thousand affordable housing schemes and other infrastructural amenities for the benefit of its residents.
Governor Abiodun also used the occasion to appeal to Nigerians to remain calm in the face of the current economic challenges with an assurance that President Bola Tinubu was working round the clock to find a lasting solution to the hardship.
He dedicated the award to the people of Ogun state, the civil servants and his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, has well as, to those who have supported him since the inception of his administration in 2019.
