Thirty seven suspected criminals have been apprehended by Police in Oyo State for various offences. 

The suspects were paraded at the police headquarters, Eleyele Ibadan by the Commissioner of Police, Mrs Ngozi Onadeko. 

The suspects were arrested for offences ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, car theft, pick pocketing, sodomy and other cyber crime. 

Two alleged car snatchers, Echefuna Ebubechukwu and Temisan Barber said they were specialists in snatching exotic cars from unsuspected owners at gun point. 

Their latest operation at Bodija resulted in stealing of a black Ford edge with registration number APP771CV and a blue Toyota Corolla car with registration number AKD642CM.

Also, a teacher, Mr Olawuyi Ebenezer was paraded for repeatedly having undue canal knowledge of a twelve-year-old pupil.

An alleged kidnapping syndicate responsible for strings of robbery and kidnapping along Ayete, igangan and Eruwa areas of Oyo state were also paraded.

The trio, Samuel Oga, Christian Abunka and Sheu Babangida confessed to be involved in the crime but later told newsmen that they were innocent of the crime levelled against them. 

Another suspected kidnapper, Abubakar Rico was also paraded after his arrest in Idere.

Also, thirty suspected cultists who specialized in armed robbery, rape and other crime related offences were apprehended in one hotel at Adamasingba area of Ibadan with various crime instruments.

Some of the suspects said they relocated to Ibadan when the business was getting tougher in Lagos, claiming they specialized in robbing members of the public of their phones in order to use the sim cards to defraud their contacts.

A lady, who was arrested alongside the suspected armed robbers with possession of Indian hemp, Faith Ominka who confessed that she was a sex worker, said the weed was given to her to sell by one of her customers. 

Parading the suspects, Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mrs Ngozi Onadeko said the huge breakthrough in the arrest of the suspects was a symbol of hope and confidence in the crime combating activities of the police. 

Mrs Onadeko therefore called on the public not to relent in sharing credible as timely information valuable in curbing criminality and birthing a peaceful oyo state and promised to charge the suspects to court after thorough investigations. 

Other exhibits found with the suspects include two exotic cars, several mobile phones, sim cards, cash local guns, weapons and ammunitions.

The long arm of the law has caught up with forty-eight suspected criminals who have been terrorizing the people of Ibadan and its environs.

The suspects were arrested for various offences ranging from kidnapping, rape, armed robbery and other related criminal offences.

One of the suspects, a fifty six year old legal practitioner, Remi Oladiti who was arrested for drugging and defiling a fourteen year old girl confessed to the crime but said it was a mutual relationship between them.

Another one, Jinjbti Nimtim who was arrested for kidnapping and the killing of his boss said he dispossessed the deceased of his money and mobile phone and sold it his friend.

Other paraded suspects confessed to the charges levelled against them and pleaded for leniency.

Parading the suspects, Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mrs Ngozi Onadeko said the command’s efforts had yielded tremendously as all the arrested suspects were captured.

Mrs Onadeko said with the support of gallant officers and unbiased collaboration form members of the public, as well as a synergy from other sister agencies, Oyo State would be totally crime free.

Mrs Onadeko said part of those paraded were some hoodlums who were involved in looting police stations during ENDSARS protest.

The commissioner added that all the suspects would soon charge to court after proper investigations. 

Exhibits found with the suspects included some arms and ammunition, some stolen households materials, different types of mobile phones, and about five hundred thousand naira cash.
