The Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has released the names of 600 newly recruited primary school teachers on the State’s SUBEB website.

The Ekiti State SUBEB Chairman, Professor Femi Akinwumi who made this known in Ado Ekiti, explained that, the newly employed teachers were the first batch to be employed from successful applicants in the recruitment exercise and documentation process carried out by SUBEB recently.

Professor Akinwumi advised applicants to check the list by logging to the Ekiti State Website via http://ekitistate.gov.ng/jobs.

He explained that the 600 successful applicants as well as the already notified 100 newly recruited teachers under the Federal Teachers Scheme would undergo a 4-day induction workshop from the Monday ,18th January, 2021 at designated centres across the state under strict compliance with the COVID-19 Protocols recently announced by the state government.

Professor Akinwumi added that the venues for the training and other relevant information would be made available to the successful candidates very soon.

The SUBEB chairman who stressed that the recruitment exercise was devoid of political, religious, ethnic or gender bias, submitted that it was purely based on merit.

Professor Akinwumi however charged the newly recruited teachers to see their employment as a call to duty, stressing that they should judiciously utilise the opportunity given to them by being diligent, loyal and dedicated to their duties.

The SUBEB boss also assured that the exercise was a continuous one as more successful applicants would still be employed in due course.

About twenty thousand applicants have so far applied for the ongoing online recruitment of teachers into the public primary schools in Ekiti state.

The State Head of Service, Mr. Ayodeji Ajayi, made this known to newsmen in Ado Ekiti.

 Mr. Ajayi explained that one thousand and one hundred of the applicants would be employed at the end of the exercise and only those who have the required qualifications would be employed.

The Chairman, Ekiti state Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Professor Francisca Aladejana said there will be written examination after the closure of the online recruitment.

Professor Aladejana pledged that all the processes would be completed before the resumption of schools in September for the 2019/2020 academic session to enable the new teachers resume their respective duties.

She however announced that the online application which started last week Wednesday would end on Friday this week.
