Vice-Chancellor, first technical university, Ibadan, Professor Ayobami Salami says the university has produced learned students who are being sourced by reputable organizations.

Professor Salami stated this while speaking at a press conference heralding activities lined up for the first convocation ceremony of the university holding tomorrow.

The Technical University Vice-Chancellor expressed satisfaction with the ability of the graduating students considering the institution’s drive of building the brains and training them on vocational skills.

While highlighting the achievements of the institution within its five years of existence, Professor Salami said Technical University Ibadan has been ranked 7th best state University and 27th among all universities by the National University Commission, NUC.

The Tech-U V.C who said 12 out of the 63 first set of graduates had first-class while 24 had second class upper explained that, the University has increased its student base from sixty-nine at the inception to about nine hundred students.

Professor Salami later took journalists round on a facility tour of two newly built hostels, two 250 capacity classrooms, well-equipped laboratories and two broadcast studios.

Among the activities lined up for the maiden convocation include; a stage play, convocation lecture and conferment of honorary doctoral degrees on some distinguished Nigerians.

Technical University, Tech-U, Oyo State, has announced the appointment of Mrs. Olayinka Balogun as the first substantive Registrar of the University.

Mrs. Balogun hails from Igboora, in Ibarapa Central Local Government of Oyo State.

Until her appointment, Mrs. Balogun was on sabbatical leave at Tech-U as the Deputy Registrar/Director, Vice-Chancellor’s Office and she had been a Principal Assistant Registrar at the University of Ibadan, UI, Ibadan.

As the Principal Assistant Registrar at UI, Mrs. Balogun was the Head, Senate Unit of the Academic Division of the Registry.

She also previously worked as Principal Assistant Registrar and Administrative Officer at the university.

She holds an M. A. in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Ibadan as well as Masters in Industrial and Labour Relations (MLR) from the same institution. 

A thorough-bred administrator with nineteen years working experience, she is a professional who always strives for positive results through the application of adaptability, leadership and problem-solving skills. 

She is desirous of motivating colleagues to fully buy into the vision and mission of the First Technical University Ibadan. 

Mrs. Balogun, who has received various commendations for excellent performances on different occasions, is passionate about youth mentoring, counselling and hospital volunteering.
