NYSC Calls for Better Welfare for Corps Members
National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has appealed to the Ogun State government to resuscitate monthly payment of stipends to corps members in the state government Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
Ogun State Coordinator of the scheme, Dr. Belinda Faniyi made the appeal at Sagamu, during the swearing-in ceremony of the Batch “B” Stream two corps members deployed to the state.
Dr. Faniyi noted that the government should put into consideration the economic contribution of the corps members to the development of the state especially with the present economic situation in the country.
She pleaded with Governor Dapo Abiodun to constitute the State NYSC Governing Board and the Local Government committees which would be involved in the welfare of the corps members in the state and local government areas.

A total of one thousand seven hundred and nineteen corps members, comprising seven hundred and ninety eight males and nine hundred and twenty-one females of various disciplines were formally inducted into the National Youth Service Corps in Ogun state Batch “B” Stream two.
