Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State will be the special Guest of Honour at this year’s final of Best Ogedegbe Under-15 Football Competition slated for Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan on Sunday, 29th September, 2019.
This year’s edition will coincide with the ten years Remembrance of the former Green Eagles Goalkeeper, who died at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan on September 28, 2009.
According to the younger brother of Best, Julius Ogedegbe, Governor Seyi Makinde, Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin are expected to grace the final ceremony this Sunday.
Ogedegbe said other dignitaries including the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Seun Fakorede, sports philanthropists, close associates of the late Best Ogedegbe, especially during his playing days will be attending the event.
Adelagun Memorial Grammar School, Ibadan, will be slugging it out with Precious Football Academy in the Under 15 Final, while TYJ Football Academy, Oke Ado and Community Grammar School, Kudeti, will settle scores to determine third place winners
Julius Ogedegbe said an exhibition match between Best Ogedegbe Under 13 Football Academy and Fresh FM Juvenile Academy will also be played as part of activities lined up for the Remembrance of Best Ogedegbe.
