Need to pay more attention to training of male children took the center stage of the maiden edition of Boys Conference organized by Beehive Empowerment and Development Initiative.

The conference, which was designed to identify some challenges facing boys in the country, was attended by male students from various public and private secondary school in Ibadan, including Loyola College.

Speakers at the conference agreed that more attention had been given to female children up bringing leaving their males counterpart to self up-bringing when it comes social training.

A lecturer at the University of Ibadan, Professor Francis Egbokhare attributed many of the social vices in society to burden of responsibilities on male children, which he said caused them to find means of meeting the societal demands at all cost.

Professor Egbokhare, who told the boys to first be a real boy for them to be a real man, cautioned them against selfishness.

Director, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Oyo State Directorate, Mrs. Dolapo Dosumu, urged them to be focus to achieve their dreams.

Deputy Director, Marketing, Radio Nigeria Ibadan National Station, Mrs. Bolanle Owoyemi, advised the boys not to write themselves off any time they face disappointment.

The Executive Director, Beehive Empowerment and Development Initiative, Mrs, Bisi Adetunji said the conference was organized to mentor and equip boys and young men with skills and information they needed to achieve their dreams.
