Oyo State House of Assembly has summoned the Commissioner for Energy, Mr. Seun Ashamu, Personnel of Ministry of Energy and Oyo State Rural Electrification Board over abandoned and uninstalled transformers across Local governments in the State.
The house during its plenary lamented the condition of abandoned transformers procured by the Executive in 2011.
In a motion jointly moved by Mr. Julius Okeyoyin, representing Saki-West, Mr. Abiodun Fadeyi, Ona Ara and Mr. Kazeem Olayanju representing Irepo/Olorunsogo state constituencies, the lawmakers described electricity as indispensable in socioeconomic development of any state.
Speaker of the House, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin, said the concerned persons, Ministries and Agencies are to appear next week Tuesday, 5th November, to give situation report on the issue.
