National youth service corps, NYSC, is putting mechanism in place to check cases of fake corps members in the scheme. 

NYSC state coordinator in Oyo state, Mrs. Eniola Ambekemo stated this at the swearing in ceremony of the 2019 Batch C corps members posted to Oyo state.

The state coordinator who condemned reported cases of fake Corps members in the country said the scheme had up its games in ensuring that such unwholesome development was stalled. 

Mr. Ambekemo charged Corps members posted to Oyo state to maximize the potential in the orientation exercise to be a better person after the mandatory national service. 

In an address of welcome, chairman Oyo state NYSC governing board who doubles as the state’s commissioner for youth and sports, Mr. Seun Fakorede encouraged the Corps members to allow discipline, service and humility to guide them through the service year. 

Declaring the orientation exercise open, Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde in a message through the deputy governor Engineer Rauf Olaniyan pledged the determination of the state government to provide a conducive environment for the youths. 

Engineer Makinde also implored the corps members to ensure they contributed their quota to national unity and development, reminding them that the orientation course was aimed at inculcating in them lessons of discipline, hard work and integrity.

Governor Makinde however appealed to residents of Oyo state to accord the corps member’s warm reception during and after the orientation exercise. 

Two thousand one hundred and seventy one corps members, comprising eight hundred and seventy four males and one thousand two hundred and ninety seven females participated in the exercise.
