Manchester City delivered a footballing masterclass at Old Trafford yesterday night in the English Football League Cup first leg semifinal clash between the Manchester giants. In a pulsating first half, a stunner from Bernado Silva, a stylish finish from Riyad Mahrez and a deflected own goal off Andreas Pereira showcased the current gulf in class between the Mancunian neighbors, and effectively killed off the tie as a contest. Marcus Rashford pulled a goal back for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s young wards in the second half, but his strike was scant consolation as City ran out 3-1 winners in the home of their biggest rivals.

The second leg of the EFL Cup semifinal between United and City comes up on Wednesday 29th January, at the Etihad Stadium. Tonight, Leicester City host Aston Villa at the King Power Stadium in the first leg of the second semifinal tie. The game kicks off at 8pm GMT (9pm Nigerian Time).
