Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Oyo State Command has arrested a couple for burning part of their ten-year-old daughter’s body for stealing.
Confessing to the crime, the suspects, Taofeek and Romoke Olawale said the ten-year-old victim, Abibat Olawale stole three thousand naira belonging to one Rukayat Tirimisiyu.
Taofeek said he later tied Abibat’s hand to the ceiling and put fire under her till she confessed to the allegation.
Parading the suspects, Public Relations Officer, PRO, of NSCDC in Oyo State, Mr Oluwole Olusegun said the command was doing all it could to ensure that the issue of child torture reduced drastically in the society.
Mr Olusegun called on parents and guardians who are fond of maltreating their children and wards to stop the act before the law catch up against them
He said that the suspects would soon be charged to court after investigations.
Mr. Olusegun added that the victim Abibat Olawale had been taken to hospital.
