The members of Ibarapa Central NULGE were conspicuously absent from work this week Monday as the Secretariat gate was locked. Meanwhile, the APC elected Chairman Mr. Habib Ibrahim and his followers occupied the gate entrance in an attempt to start the business of the day as the Executive Chairman of the LG, but the entrance could not be gained as the gate was under lock and key.

Notwithstanding, the PDP members stayed in a group at the other side of the secretariat with an intention to disallow the APC members from gaining an entrance if at all the gate was opened. The peace was strictly kept with the aid of Security agents in attendance, the Nigeria Police and NCDSC.

Later as at 10.30 am, the APC members gently moved out of the scene and followed by the PDP members. In Ibarapa East LG Eruwa, similar incidents occurred except in Ibarapa North East LCDA Lanlate where it was reported by an eye witness that the APC elected Chairman Mr. Lanre Olaosegba was mishandled by a mob as he led his members to the Lanlate secretariat where there is neither fence nor gate to check free entrance. The rowdy situation was later controlled by the Security agents.

At Ibadan Southwest Local Government, the council was under lock as the gate was being manned by security agencies.

A source, who craved anonymity at Oluyole Local Government, told Radio Nigeria that elected but suspended local government chairman, Prince Abas Alesinloye had found his way into the council earlier before the arrival of the caretaker chairman.

The source hinted that the situation was put under control by security agencies.

The source added that the suspended local government chairman left the council through the back door while Police prevented the caretaker chairman from entering to avoid a clash.
