The Chairmen of dissolved local government areas and local council development areas, LCDAs in Oyo State have resumed into their various Council Secretariats.

This followed letters from the Inspector General’s office to Abass Alesinloye, leader of the sacked chairmen and Akin Oke, chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State informing them that the commissioner of police, Shina Olukolu, has been briefed on the development and would lead them to their respective council secretariats.

Radio Nigeria who monitored the situation in Ibadan said that some Local Government Secretariats in Ibadan confirmed that the ALGON Chairmen are on standby to assume duties as at the filling of this report.

Radio Nigeria also observed that members of NULGE complied with the sit at home order by the association while police were on ground to forestall the breakdown of law and order.

The local government visited includes Ibadan South West, North West and were under lock and key.

However, the resumption of sacked chairmen witnessed pandemonium in Ibadan North East and Ibadan South East.

In an interview with newsmen, the Oyo State ALGON chairman, Abass Aleshinloye confirmed that the police assisted the Chairmen to assume duties in majority of local governments Secretariats while  the scenario differ in some council as according to him, police were awaiting signal in these places

Prince Alesinloye urged ALGON members to be law abiding as they resume in their various council and LCDAs.

Earlier, the Oyo State Government through its spokesperson, Taiwo Adisa, said the Engineer Seyi Makinde’s led administration would not allow any group of persons to throw the state into crisis as a result of the ongoing debate on the management of local governments in the state.
