Oyo State Police Command has commenced recruitment of Community Policing Volunteers.

The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr. Shina Olukolu stated this in Ibadan while commissioning the administrative block donated by Crime Alert Security Network to Egbeda Division of Oyo State Command of Nigeria Police Force.

Mr. Olukolu said explained that the command had begun screening of the volunteers in connection with traditional rulers, and members of the Police Community Relations Committee.

The Commissioner of Police said those to be recruited must be able-bodied and be between the ages of twenty-one and fifty years.

Speaking on the donation, Mr. Olukolu commended the donor, who is also the Chief Executive Officer, Crime Alert Security Network, Dr. Amos Olaniyan and called on Nigerians to emulate the gesture.

In a remark, the Chief Executive Officer, Crime Alert Security Network, Dr. Amos Olaniyan called on police to embrace ideas from the private sector that could help them to achieve their vision.

Dr. Olaniyan also advocated adequate training for police officers to be more efficient.

At the event, the chairman, Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, Oyo State Command, Mr. Peter Omofoye pronounced the Crime Alert Boss as patron of PCRC.
