Nigerian youths have been advised to look inward and embrace vocational skills instead of seeking for collar jobs that are not always available.

Ogun State Coordinator, the National Directorate of Employment, NDE, Mr. Adekunle Bamgbade gave the advice while speaking with Radio Nigeria Paramount FM in Abeokuta.

Mr Bamgbade, who explained that vocational skills were one of the NDE’s job creation programmes aimed at providing productive skills to unemployment youths across the country, noted that these skills acquisition intervention had remained a veritable tool in combating mass unemployment.

The Ogun State NDE Boss said the government was committed to reducing unemployment rate among youths in the country through the provision of various programmes including N-power scheme, small scale business among others.

He, added that the NDE was partnering relevant government agencies for effective execution of its mandate.
