Ekiti State Government says it will develop a curriculum that will focus on the teaching of science and technology oriented subject’s right from the basic level of education to tertiary levels.
Governor Kayode Fayemi made this known at the distribution of science equipment worth about ten million Naira to Public Secondary Schools in Ado-Ekiti.
Represented by the Deputy Governor Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, Governor Fayemi said that the step was aimed at meeting the global best practices in the teaching of Science subjects.
He explained that all teachers would also be trained in compliance with global standards of teaching Science subjects, while the students would be given easy access to the use of Science equipment. Earlier, the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Mr. Foluso Daramola urged the benefiting schools to make proper use of equipment in order to meet the government expectations on education.
