Just like when the Sun sets, friend’s families and associates of the late broadcast icon Prince Atilade Atoyebi felt an overwhelming sense of loss as they watched the remains of the deceased committed to mother earth in his hometown, Ogbomoso.

Representatives from Radio Nigeria were at the funeral of the formal Executive Director, FRCN Ibadan HQ, which took place at Oja Oba Baptist Church, Ijeru, Ogbomoso.

Senior management from Radio Nigeria, including Zonal Director FRCN Ibadan, Alhaji Muhammed Bello and Director Lagos operation, Prince Adeyinka Amosun were in attendance.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the body of Atila, as he was fondly called was brought into the church in a gold plated white casket, eliciting intense emotional responses from those present in the church.

Starting off the funeral service, the church took a congregational hymn acknowledging that Atilade Atoyebi, who meant different things to different people, was no more.

In a sermon, Reverend John Fatunbi reminded all mortals that death was an inevitable end, hence the need for all to live with the fear of God.

Reverend Fatunbi advised Christians to live a purposeful life by dedicating themselves to the work of God.

Dignitaries present, including veteran journalists who graced the occasion to pay their last respect to the departed colossus described the late Prince Atilade Atoyebi as a man of many parts.
