…Some areas in Ibadan too.

Oyo Town has recorded its first rainfall this year with residents heaving a sigh of relief after weeks of extreme heat.

The early morning downpour which lasted for about an hour also caused many roads to be littered with refuse from blocked drains.

Motorists called for repair of the bad roads before heavy rains start.

Some vehicles were sighted this morning stuck at some water-logged sections of the road including some portions along the Oyo-Ibadan expressway.

Similarly, some parts of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, like Bashorun, General Gas, Akobo-Ojurin, Olorunda-Abaa, Kute, Olodo, Omi-Adio, and Apata also witnessed the first rainfall of the year.

Many residents of Akobo-Ojurin were grateful for the rain, noting that it helped reduce the dust pervading the area as a result of the ongoing road construction.
