Oyo State Government is to carry out fumigation of markets across the state to prevent the spread of coronavirus pandemic.

This is contained in a statement by the Acting Chairman of Oyo State Covid-19, Professor Temitope Alonge after the regular review meeting of the Task Force.

Professor Alonge stated that the decontamination of markets would be done using experts from the University of Ibadan at a date to be communicated through the heads of markets.

The statement also notes that Oyo State has recorded another positive case of Covid -19 bringing to nine the total of positive cases in the state.

 Professor Alonge explained that with the index case in the state was already discharged, the other seven cases were in stable condition.

According to the statement, the diagnostic centre located inside the University College Hospital, Ibadan has commenced full and timely testing of samples and committed to a turnaround time of less than 24 hours to provide results for samples taken. 

It adds that Oyo State Government has received donations amounting to N125 million in cash and some other materials.
