Also the death of Chief Richard Osuolale Akinjide has been described as a great loss to Ibadan Land in particular and Nigeria nation in general.

Former Governor stated this in a condolence message by his media assistant, Alhaji Lanre Latinwo.

The High Chief of Ibadan Land said that with the death of the legal luminary, Nigeria has lost one of her best hands in Law profession.

Senator Ladoja urged his immediate family to take solace in the fact that the late Senior Advocate of Nigeria contributed his own quota to the development of the country having served the nation to the best of his ability.

He pray that God gives the family, government of Oyo State and the people of Ibadan Land the fortitude to bear the loss.

“As Nigerians mourn the demise of the former Minister of Justice & Attorney General of Nigeria, a legal luminary and astitute politician, Chief Richard Akinjide, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadan land, Senator Lekan Balogun has described the development as shocking and a collosal loss to Ibadan, Oyo State and the nation as a whole”. 

Senator Balogun explained that the legal icon has left a vacuum in the legal and political circle.

The Ibadan High Chief therefore prayed God to give the family and his associates the fortitude to bear the loss”.

In the same vein, the former Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Mr. Adeolu Adeleke described the news of the death of Chief Richard Akinjide as a rude shock and unexpected. 

Mr. Adeleke said nobody want elderly personality endowed with wisdom in both legal and political circle to die. 

The former Speaker said the late legal luminary lived a fulfilled life and prayed that God grant him eternal rest.

Similarly, some residents of Idi Ishin, Jericho Ibadan, who are neighbours of Late Chief Akinjide have begun to troop in to the ROCK residence of the deceased.

Described Chief Akinjide as a major sponsor of the group who was peaceful and always ready to get involved in community issues.

In the early morning visit to the residence of late Chief Akinjide, the Mogaji Ile Aperin of Akinjide family, Chief Alimi Obisesan said the former minister was a mentor to him and will be missed for his brotherly roles. 

Meanwhile, all precautionary measures against the spread of COVID-19 are being observed. 

As at the time of the report only journalists and family members were seen around standing in groups in observance to social distancing.
