Oyo Move to Improve Enforcement of State’s Border Closure
Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde says the state would intensify its security arrangement at the various boundaries in the state to enhance effective compliance with the border lockdown directives to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
He stated this while speaking with newsmen after an assessment tour to Bakatari and Dalley border towns between Ibadan – Abeokuta and Ibadan – Ijebu.
Governor Makinde who explained that there was need for better modalities and adequate welfare for security personnel manning the borders stressed that the compliance level must increase across the various borders in the state.
Speaking on possible punishment or fine for defaulters of the boundary lockdown, Governor Makinde said South West governors were collaborating for proper coordination.
On the entourage of the governor for the assessment tour was the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Shina Olukolu and other security heads.
