Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has announced plans to set up a committee towards ensuring that all outstanding issues between government and organised labour in the state are resolved promptly.

Governor Abiodun made this known at a meeting with representatives of the organized labour held at the Executive Chambers of the Governor’s office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. 

Governor Abiodun explained that the committee would be saddled with the responsibility of handling labour matters, including the new minimum wage and other issues promptly. 

While congratulating the organised labour on this year’s Workers Day celebration, the governor said that his administration would continue to give priority to the welfare of the workers.

Speaking with newsmen after the meeting, the State Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr Emmanuel Bankole expressed optimism that the state government would implement the new minimum wage immediately the country overcame COVID 19 pandemic
