A bill to provide for the establishment of Osun Youth Development Commission has passed through the second reading on the floor of the House of Assembly.

Motion for the second reading of the bill which was moved by the Deputy Majority Leader, Mr. Kunle Akande and seconded by Mr. Adirullai Abefe representing Olaoluwa state constituency.

The bill tagged Osun Youth Development Commission Establishment Bill 2020 when passed into law would harness and develop the full potential of youth as partners in nation building.

The Speaker, Mr. Timothy Owoeye during plenary said the commission when established would provide leadership in the setting of priorities and direction for all youth developmental activities.

The Speaker who noted that the Commission would encourage active participation of youth in all governmental programs, projects and activities affecting the youths, urged the members to look critically at the bill before its final passage.

In their various contributions, the lawmakers described youth as fore front of any society, noting that the bill would enhance the youth adequate participation in state development.

They called for favourable consideration and speedy passage of the bill for the development of the state.
