Oyo state House of Assembly has passed a vote of confidence on the Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, and his deputy, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan.

This followed a motion by the lawmaker representing Lagelu state constituency, Mr Akintunde Olajide.

The house through the speaker also debunked some media report of a face-off between the Executive and Legislative arm.

The house observed the second reading of a bill to change the name of the Ibarapa Polytechnic, Eruwa back to Adeseun Ogundoyin Campus.

While lending their voices to the bill, the Majority leader, Mr Sanjo Adedoyin; the Minority leader, Mr Asimiyu Alarape and the sponsor of the bill,  Mr Akeem Adedibu said the motive behind the change of the institution’s name to Ibarapa Polytechnic could not be ascertained, hence the need to reverse it.

In his remark, the speaker, Mr. Adebo Ogundoyin, a son of the late business magnate, Adeseun Ogundoyin, noted that he is not throwing weight behind the bill because of his family involvement but maintained that a round peg should be put in the round hole.
