Family, friends and political associates have been reacting to the death of Oyo State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Mr Kehinde Ayoola.

Some of those who spoke in an interview with Radio Nigeria described his death as a colossal loss to Oyo State.

Confirming the death of the Oyo Alaafin-born politician, Governor Seyi Makinde on his Twitter handle said he received the news of his death with rude shock.

Governor Makinde described the former Speaker as a true friend, who would be missed for his great oratory skill and love for people of Oyo town and the state in general.

One of the contemporaries of  Mr Ayoola at the Oyo State House of Assembly, Mojeed Olaoya, who expressed sadness over his death, said he was a rallying point when he held sway as the Speaker between 1999 and 2003

A former Speaker of the state assembly, Mr Asimiyu Alarape, said irrespective of political biases, Mr Kehinde Ayoola was an intelligent person whose wealth of experience would be greatly missed.

In the opinion of the state’s Commissioner of Special Duties, Chief Bayo Lawal, death has taken away a vibrant politician.

Mr Kehinde Ayoola studied Animal Science and Environmental Management and Control at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

He was the Director General, Seyi Makinde Campaign Organisation in 2015 and also the  Deputy Director General in 2019.

Mr Kehinde Ayoola died at the age of fifty five during a brief illness.
