Earlier , Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Abiodun Aikomo, explained that the order targets groups with a manpower strength of more than five people offering security services in any part of the state.
It would be recalled that some students and teachers of some public nursery ,primary and secondary schools were kidnapped by bandits in Oriire local government of Oyo state, a week ago.

The leadership of the South-West Council of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP has lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for what it describes as uncommon compassion, responsibility and sincerity towards retirees in the state since he assumed office in 2019.
The council, in a letter entitled “Letter of Appreciation signed by its chairman, Mr Waidi Oloyede and secretary, Mr Sunday Akin, gave the commendation, noting that Governor Makinde has restored the dignity of retirees and instilled hope and confidence in governance.
The leadership of the council hailed the governor for several policy decisions aimed at improving the lives of pensioners in Oyo State.
It added that the consistent payment of pensions on or before 25th of every month has brought financial stability and renewed confidence to retirees, while the governor’s payment of outstanding gratuities dating back to 2008, beginning with N500 million monthly releases in 2019 and progressively increasing over the years to an impressive N6 billion as of February 2026, showed that Makinde has a strong commitment to clearing inherited liabilities in line with his promise.
The letter read in part: “The Leadership of the South-West Zonal Council of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, on behalf of Oyo State Pensioners, writes with immense pride, deep appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to commend Your Excellency for your exceptional and people-oriented leadership, particularly in advancing the welfare of pensioners in Oyo State.
“Since your assumption of office in 2019, your administration has demonstrated uncommon compassion, responsibility and sincerity of purpose towards retirees, thereby restoring dignity, hope and confidence in governance.
“Your historic and selfless decision to forfeit your personal remuneration to the payment of pensioners’ gratuities from the very first day of your inauguration stands as a rare and exemplary act of sacrifice in public service.
“This singular gesture has significantly eased the burden of suffering pensioners in Oyo State.
“We also commend your administration for reversing the painful regime of percentage pension payments, as experienced under the previous administration of Senator Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi, the former Governor of Oyo State, and restoring full payment of monthly pensions. The consistent payment of pensions on or before 25th of every month has brought financial stability and renewed confidence among retirees.
“Your deliberate intervention in the payment of long outstanding gratuities dating back to 2008, beginning with N500million monthly releases in 2019 and progressively increasing over the years to an impressive N6 billion as of February 2026, reflects visionary leadership and a strong commitment to clearing inherited liabilities.
“Furthermore, your institutionalisation of minimum pension, alongside the implementation of various pension increments, including the 33 per cent increase of 2010, the 2019 consequential adjustment, the 20 per cent increment in February 2024 and the additional N17,500 increase, have significantly improved the living conditions of pensioners across the State.
“We also deeply appreciate your inclusion of pensioners in a free health insurance scheme, as well as the organisation of periodic medical outreach programmes, which have enhanced access to quality healthcare for our elderly members.
“Your thoughtful introduction of a N50,000 Christmas bonus for every pensioner since 2023 and the distribution of food items such as bag of rice during festive periods, further underscores your administration’s humane and compassionate approach to governance.
“Equally commendable is your bold and corrective action in restoring over 3000 pensioners back to payroll who were previously removed. This act of justice has brought relief and restored dignity to many affected individuals and their families.

The event, held at the Local Government Training School, Secretariat, Ibadan, took place simultaneously across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
A total of 250 persons with disabilities in Oyo State received ₦200,000 each as business recapitalization grants, while the state also received a ₦50 million support fund for wider distribution within its disability community.
Represented in Ibadan by the wife of the Oyo State governor, Chief Tamunominini Makinde, Senator Tinubu said the initiative demonstrated the government’s commitment to building an economy that gives every Nigerian a sense of belonging.
“Our nation grows stronger when every individual is empowered to contribute meaningfully,” she said.
She announced that 9,500 persons with disabilities nationwide would receive a total of ₦1.9 billion, describing it as one of the largest empowerment interventions targeted at Nigerians with disabilities.
Quoting American disability rights advocate Helen Keller, she added, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much. A truly inclusive society is built when we stand together and create opportunities that empower everyone to contribute their unique gifts.”
Senator Tinubu emphasised that the programme aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises inclusive growth, social protection, and sustainable livelihoods for vulnerable Nigerians.
She highlighted earlier RHI interventions, noting that more than 100,000 petty traders and small business owners, including persons with disabilities, had received direct cash grants over the past two years.
“Our Social Investment Programmes have supported victims of floods, communal clashes, disasters, the elderly, widows, and orphans of our fallen heroes,” she said. “Through our Monthly Food Outreach Scheme, food items have been delivered to 22 states and the FCT. I went there to inspect the place and you will be surprised that in that settlement, we have 27,000 hectares of land. We have asked them to carve out just 3,000 hectares out of the 27,000 for that project.”
“Let me also say this; political office holders across the country should do their best to improve things, because it has been a difficult and challenging period for the people, but as they say, tough times don’t last, only tough people do”, Governor Makinde explained.
Delivering the message of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Ladoja called for patience among the people of Oyo State and urged them to remain steadfast and hopeful in the face of challenges.
Oyo State governor, Engineer ‘Seyi Makinde has warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) not to truncate democracy by resorting to self-help on Local Government Administration in Osun State.
The governor gave the warning during the swearing-in of the 30 newly-elected Local Government Chairmen in Osun State.
He congratulated the newly-elected chairmen, charging them to deliver dividends of democracy to their people and justify the confidence reposed in them.
Governor Makinde, who was in Osogbo with the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum and governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, said they were in attendance at the swearing-in event in solidarity with the Osun State governor.
The governor noted that the APC could have a court judgment, but it should follow due process to implement such judgment and not go through the backdoors or unlawful means, adding that lovers of democracy would not want a resort to violence, which made the South-West earn the appellation of ‘Wild Wild West’ in the past.
“Let me congratulate the newly-minted chairmen and chairpersons of all the 30 Local Government Areas of Osun State.“Don’t forget the promises you made to the people during your campaign. This is an opportunity for you to deliver to the people at the grassroots level. My prayer is that with the support of your governor and the state government, you will deliver.
“For some of you, this will be your stepping stone to higher positions, because the reward for hard work is more work.
“The chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and I decided to come here to witness this momentous occasion and to show solidarity with the government and the people of Osun State.
“Recently, we were in Lagos for the South-West Governors’ Forum meeting. We had PDP and APC governors from the South-West in attendance. We came together in the interest of our zone to tackle those problems that are common to us and our expectation is that we would have the support all the way to the top, because the essence of governance is to deliver the goods to the people in our various states and zones.
“So, when events started unfolding here in Osun State to the extent that lives were lost, we felt that we should come around and sound a note of warning. We are all students of history and we know what the South-West Region went through that made people tag it ‘Wild Wild West’ back then and we do not want that again. “We just want to peacefully deliver the dividends of democracy to our people. So, nobody should resort to self-help. Even if you have a court judgment, there is a process; let the process go through.
