Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has said that the present phase of the ease of lockdown in the state would end on the 31st of May.

Governnor Abiodun, who made this known while briefing newsmen in his Okemosan Abeokuta office, said that the second phase of easing lockdown, which would be accompanied with a further ease of the lockdown and expansion of window for lockdown relaxation, would commence on June 1st.

Governor Abiodun, who pointed out that window for lockdown relaxation for next week are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, also said that ninety seven COVID-19 patients had been discharged in the state.

While maintaining that  community transmission of the virus was on the increase, the governor announced that  Nigeria  Centre for Disease Control had certified Molecular Laboratory in Sagamu towards boosting testing capacity from 450 to 600 per day, adding that his administration had  accredited some private health care facilities for the management of COVID-19.

Governor Abiodun, who pointed out that the state government had embarked on renovation of some primary health care centres, said that over 200 personnel drawn from primary health care centres and community development associations had been trained to manage asymptomatic positive cases of COVID-19 in their localities.

He also congratulated Muslims for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and urged them to observe Eld-el-fitri prayer in their respective homes.
