In view of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic and the guidelines to combat the dreaded virus, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has said that his administration has adopted a low key approach to mark the first year in office and his 60th birthday.

In a statement, Governor Abiodun explained that various completed projects across the state which had been earlier earmarked for inauguration to mark the first year in office had been put on hold, while the ongoing activation of all completed projects for immediate use would continue.

He pointed out that inspection of other ongoing projects, with strict compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines, would also proceed, while a compendium of his administration’s activities in the last one year would be made available to the public.

The governor reminded Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the extant directive that government fund must not be expended on any congratulatory advertorial.

He urged friends, well-wishers, individuals and corporate organisations  to donate and fund projects that would promote overall development in the state, rather than advertorial placements.

Governor Abiodun thanked God and the people of the state for trusting him with their mandate and for supporting his administration in its efforts to lift the state to a greater height.
