The newly established Federal College of Education, Iwo has the potential of opening up the economic fortune of the ancient community.

This was the submission of members of All Progressive Congress in Iwo at a press conference organised to show appreciation to Federal Government for sitting the college in the town.

Speaking, the leader of All Progressive Congress in Iwo Federal Constituency and Asiwaju of Iwoland  Chief Adedeji Gbadegasin, assured Federal Government that the people of the town who guide the property jealously as well as provision of security for prospective students.

Chief Gbadegeshin maintained that the institution would give room for capacity building and economic emancipation in the ancient community.

He lauded Federal Government for the gesture, saying the college would be treated as priority by the people of the town.

Also speaking, Special Adviser to Osun State Governor on Community and Rural Affairs, Mr Mumini Adekunle said the college was central to socio economic transformation of the community.

In a remark, the chairman of All Progressive Congress in Osun State, Mr Gboyega Famodun, who congratulated the people of the town for the opportunity said the institution would place the name of the town on the world map.

Mr Famodun urged the people of the town to support APC in the future elections.

It would be recalled that Federal Government recently established six federal colleges of education in the country.
