Osun State government has confirmed another six new cases of Coronavirus.

The state Commissioner for Health, Doctor Rafiu Isamotu who stated this in a chat with newsmen in Osogbo, said one of the cases, a returnee from Ibadan, whose spouse lives in Owode-Ede died  before the result of his test was announced.

Doctor Isamotu noted that the remaining five cases, three had contact with an Osun-based Indian national whose status was confirmed on Friday. 

He further revealed that that the remains of the deceased returnee who had an underlying ailment had been buried by the family.

Doctor Isamotu said the Surveillance Unit of the State’s Covid-19 Team is already lining up contacts for tracing.

The Commissioner hinted that the state now has eleven active cases while out of the sixty cases confirmed, the state has successfully treated and discharged forty-four patients while five deaths had been recorded.
