The Osun State Police Command has dragged a 50-year-old man, Aina Taiwo before a Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo for alleged attempt to rape a school teacher.
The defendant was arraigned on two counts of attempted rape and assault.
The prosecutor, Mr Abiodun Fagboyinbo said the defendant committed the offence on Saturday at about 10:55 AM in Agunbelewo Area, Osogbo; an offence contrary to and punishable under sections 359 and 360 of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Vol. II Laws of Osun State Nigeria 2002.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.
The defence counsel, Mr Nagite Okobe applied for bail for his client in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mr Badmus admitted the accused person to bail in the sum of 500,000 naira with one surety who must be a level 7 Civil Servant officer in the state.
He adjourned the case to 9th of July 2020 for hearing.
