Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has responded to emergency calls on a 3-storey building that collapsed in the morning on people sleeping inside the building.

A statement by Director-General/CEO LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu says upon arrival at the scene at 04:05 this morning at Freeman street, Lagos Island, six victims have been removed from the rubble, a male child was recovered dead.

His remains are being transported to the mortuary by Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit, SEHMU while pre-hospital care has been administered to the six victims by LASEMA and Lagos State Ambulance Service  LASAMBUS.

Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Lagos State Building Control Agency, Ministry Of Physical planning , Nigeria Police Force, Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps, Lagos State Fire Service at the incident scene carrying out a multi-agency .
