Two Landlords at Ashake Area Foko, Ibadan have been arraigned for their failure to provide sanitary conveniences. 

The Landlords, Mrs Ibrahim Akanji, a Septugenarian Mr. Fatai Oduola were accused of failure to provide toilet facility in their houses, and failure to have waste bins leading to dirty environment.

The prosecutor, Mr. Olugbenga Ajayi told the court that the suspects also ignored all warnings the environmental officers sent to them.

Reacting to the allegations, Mr.  Oduola who fetch water to make a living said he had been trying his best to yield to the warning of the environmental officers.

On her part, Mrs Akanji who agreed that she had no toilet said their waste bin broke during the visit of environmental officers.

Mrs Akanji who is living in a story building of twelve rooms without toilet said all previous toilet attempts to get toilet failed because the land was not a suitable one for the construction of a toilet any time they make attempt to dig one. 

Ruling on their arguments, the Magistrate Mr. Olamide Hamzat said he would consider the age of Mr. Oduola, and gave him till the end of August to provide toilet, and failure to do this will make the court seal the house.

The Magistrate fined Mrs Akanji, with a sum of forty thousand naira with order that she must provide toilet facilities before the end of August, and failure of which the suspect will be re-arraigned for contempt of court.
