Ogun State Police Command has arrested a fifty-nine-year-old man, Oketokun Abiodun for forcefully having unlawful carnal knowledge of a ten year old girl.
The suspect who is a pastor was arrested following the report of the father of the victim at Odeda Police Station that her daughter was sexually abused.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the state command, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi says the father of the victim sent his daughter to get key from his room when the suspect pushed her into the bed, covered her mouth with his hands and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
Mr Oyeyemi said the suspect who confessed to the crime had been detained at Odeda Police Station; while the victim was taken to General Hospital Odeda for medical attention.
He pointed out that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Kenneth Ebrimson had ordered the transfer of the suspect to Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.
