Prayer Grounds Empty in Osun as Muslims Celebrate Eid

Muslim faithful in Osun State has joined their counterparts all over the world to mark Eid-el Kabir celebration.

Radio Nigeria correspondent reports that some Islamic groups deified the directive of state government who placed ban on Eid prayer.

Most of Eid prayer grounds visited in Osogbo was empty as Muslim faithful followed the directive of government.

Speaking, an Islamic scholar, Alhaji Kabiru Adesoji said Eid prayer could be observed within the family it was not necessarily at praying ground.

Alhaji Adesoji noted that Prophet Muhammad ordered his followers to always obey the directive of their leaders.

It would be recalled that Osun State Government has earlier placed ban on Eid-el Kabir congregation prayer.
