Fans of Newcastle United of England have expressed disappointment over the collapse of the Saudi Arabian-backed takeover of the club.

A consortium led by the country’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) agreed a three hundred million pounds deal to buy the club from Mike Ashley in April but has now pulled out.

Some die-hard fans of the club said they have been left devastated and demanded answers from the Premier League.

The deal was delayed after being scrutinized under the Premier League’s owners’ and directors’ test.

According to some of the fans, Newcastle has suffered thirteen years under Mike Ashley through a lack of interest and investment in the club.

Despite the ownership complications, a survey of Newcastle United Supporters’ Trust members found that ninety seven percent of them were in favour of the takeover, with many wanting rid of Ashley.
