Forum of State Independent Electoral Commission of Nigeria, FOSIECON has commended the conduct of local government election in Ondo State.
The Forum Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Bako gave the commendation after monitoring the exercise in Akure South, Akure North and Idanre local government areas.
Alhaji Bako specifically gave kudos to the level of compliance with the COVID-19 protocols during the poll and other measures put in place.
On his part, the Secretary of the Forum, Mr Fabian Ntung expressed satisfaction with the turnout of voters and the preparedness of the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission, ODIEC towards a credible and acceptable election.
Speaking on the exercise, ODIEC Chairman, Prof Yomi Dinakin said he was pleased with the conduct of the poll and gave assurance that outcome would be acceptable by participating political parties.
Correspondent, Olumide Abudu reports that places visited by the monitoring team included Ward 4 Ijapo, Ward 5 Okelisa, Ward 7 Arakale, Akure South ward 9 Ajowa, Idanre local council and ward 9 Obaile in Akure North.
